About Us
Located in Millersville, Pennsylvania, The Mill at Manor Falls is just a short drive from up-and-coming downtown Lancaster.
Our Grounds
The Mill at Manor Falls is a stunning venue that will take your breath away and exceed all your expectations.
Originally built in 1771, the original grist mill was destroyed by a fire in 1830 and rebuilt the following year. In 2013, we began to bring the mill back to life. We have taken great care to restore the building to its original glory and create a rustic yet polished event space for weddings and other special events!

Our Mill: A Rustic and Elegant Piece of Lancaster History
1860s
During the Civil War in the 1860s, the mill was used to produce flour for the Union Troops. After the war had ended, Isaac W. Groff purchased the mill, and under his ownership, he renamed the mill as Lake Mill and outfitted it with the latest machinery at the time.
1880s
However, tragedy struck again, and a fire partially destroyed the mill in 1882. It was determined that rioters from Lancaster had started the fire, having visited buildings outside the city and lit fires to draw first responders away so riots could proceed in Lancaster proper. According to the Columbia Spy newspaper, Groff had considered not rebuilding – he had suffered an estimated uninsured loss of $25,000 (which would be equal to more than $740,000 today!). But the mill was ultimately restored in 1883.
1920s
Into the 1920s, the Frantz family operated the mill, adding a granary and producing 100 barrels of flour each day. The Frantz family lost the mill during the Wall Street Crash of 1929, however, and the mill changed ownership multiple times over the following decades.
1960s
The mill remained vacant until 1960, when Guy and Sally Starry purchased it, and in 1964, they opened the Country Mill Restaurant. The Starrys’ daughter, Anita, and her husband, Henry Emerich, operated the mill as a high-end restaurant with a French peasantry flair. Customers from all over flocked to the mill to dine and relax in the warm atmosphere.
1970s - 1980s
When Hurricane Agnes hit the state in 1972, the lower-level dining area and wine cellar were destroyed just days before the grand unveiling. The restaurant recovered and re-opened its doors after the storm, but after the damage from the hurricane, it was far less robust than previously. The Country Mill Restaurant closed its doors for good in the mid-1980s.
2012 - Now
For years, the building sat vacant, falling into disrepair. In 2012, the Dombachs purchased the property and began to restore the mill in 2013. Now restored to its former glory with added modern amenities, The Mill at Manor Falls is the ideal rustic yet elegant wedding venue for any couple looking for a unique wedding location.
